Do you want Money or Wealth
It’s probably the one statement I hear from more people than any other.
They want more money!
Whenever I ask people which they would rather have, money or wealth, they invariably want me to ( show them the money ).
Money is a singular concept. It is cash and the ability to purchase more. Certainly this can improve your lifestyle some, but just having more money can’t satiate the real needs of the human. Some of those needs are security, love, companionship and peace of mind.
Wealth is an all encompassing concept. This is not only more financial power and influence, but also the intangible things that cannot be ( bought ) such as a loving wonderful mate, beautiful healthy children, helpful friends and a fulfilling life.
Most people associate wealth with large affluent families or the CEO of a large corporation, but the news headlines quickly deflate the bubble of happiness for many of those people. They have money, but are not wealthy because they lack stability and harmony in their lives.
They fight among themselves for power and control, steal and embezzle from employees, friends and family and eventually end up unhappy and alone. Isolated from the world because they view everyone as a potential threat to that power and influence they cling to so resolutely.
Look in your pocket, you already have money. Has it really brought you any real fulfillment or happiness in life? One thing that money aways seems to bring with it is the intense desire to have more of it.
Human history is littered with the remains of political and business leaders, lottery winners, sports athletes and celebrities of all types who defined and destroyed themselves with the very thing they desired the most, money.
Money is the fodder of trade and barter. Wealth is wellbeing and the substance of an enriched existence. The rich man who drives by in his expensive vehicle may not be happy, but your next door neighbor may be wealthy, happy and satisfied.
So the next time you think that money is the answer to all of your concerns in life stop and be grateful for the wealth you already have and seek to enrich that wealth in your life.
