Super Bowl reactions abound
It’s been more than a day now since the final second ticked off the game clock in the battle between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
Jubilant fans cry in ecstasy while others lament over the stinging pain of loss. Yes, I shared some of those feelings, but always in the back of my mind was one of the truths described in The Human Life Map.
- The Super Bowl was just a result.
Each individual interprets that result from a unique point of view based on the intensity of focus, interest and desire. What you wanted to happen and how badly defines the degree of your feelings and reaction.
Before you get too carried away in wild joy or fall into a fit of depression just remember that it was simply a result. To a person disinterested in the event it had little or no meaning and caused little or no reaction.
Sometimes the larger events that we hold important blind us to the reality of comprehensive thought. People get caught up in the moment and base their decisions on feelings instead of reasoning.
Congratulations to the New York Giants, they walked out of the arena with the trophy held high. Congratulations to the New England Patriots, they walked out of the arena with their heads held high. No small feat given their feelings and the gravity of the moment.
The wise comprehend that the Super Bowl, good or bad was just a result.
