When is Too Much Too Much
Everyone does it. In fact, you may even do it today. That ever slowly encroaching and absorbing process of taking something that you enjoy and turning it into either a habit or even worse an addiction that controls the moments of your daily living function.
You do things. Some of these things you enjoy and others are, well let’s just say, not enjoyable. The things you enjoy create thoughts and feelings of doing that specific function again so that you might enjoy similar feelings.
So you do it again and again and pretty soon you have developed a habit. This might be nothing more than a nervous hand gesture or a facial movement or it may settle into a function like smoking a cigarette or taking a drink to calm the nerves.
Soon the pleasure you get or the chemical compounds in the product begin to take their hold and you find it more difficult to willingly stop repeating the pattern.
This inability to control the repetition of the pattern is an addiction.
So when is too much, too much?
Whenever you are unable to control any function through will or self-control you have lost control of your human fundamentals. You are no longer in control of your own life and something or someone else is in control.
The threshold is will and self-control. Some habits are innocent and without harm, but anytime you lose control of your own functions you are in trouble. Don’t think that you can extricate yourself from this situation because you are all alone with the very person who is under the control of habit and addiction.
Seek the help of family and friends first and competent professionals if required.
