Its All in the MIND

Apr 25 2008

Many of the people around me know that when I start a project I make quick progress and accomplish a lot in a very short time. Often they ask how I can be so fast and detailed.

The reason is really quite simple. It’s all in the MIND.

Actually in this case MIND stands for something more than just the brain or thought. It is a way of handling function and result.

  • MI - Maximum Impact
  • ND - No Distraction

Plan for and constantly and consistently do the functions that have the Maximum Impact toward your goals and desired results. Start with the large section results and be as detailed as possible as you go without delaying results on the large sections.

Go back and complete the minute details on a second pass.

Develop a zero tolerance for and focus on No Distraction. Do not allow small thoughts and diversions to distract you from the Maximum Impact functions. It is amazing when you have this mindset how many little distractions you notice that normally eat up all of your functional time.

You will make far more progress with greater results in a much shorter time.

The Balance of Old and New

Apr 24 2008

There seems to be such a conflict between those people who want change for new progress and those who desire the restoration and preservation of the past. Each feels that their respective view is best.

Often the substance of their interaction together is limited to this conflict of
opinion and expectation.

Perhaps they are both right and what they are seeking is one in the same.

Do you want to hold onto the results that you viewed as bad in the past? I didn’t think so and neither do the people who value the past. What they actually want is to preserve the memory and future of the good results from the past.

Do you want bad things to happen to you in the future? Neither do I and neither do the people who value future progress. They want to cultivate the good results and avoid the results that are viewed as negative or bad.

So it would seem that we all really want the same things, the good things. We all want to have a balance of the old and the new and we want to cultivate positive progress for the future and savor the positive results from the past.

I guess we just didn’t realize it…

Apr 23 2008

As usual I am always on the watch for useful sites on the internet.
Here is a gem for young children that includes learning games and lots of skill activities.

the Kidz Page

It will take you a while to navigate all of the content on this site and I have placed the contact point at the games that deal with learning skills.
