There is one specific character trait that people rely on as much as anything to develop their personal opinion of who you are as a person. Disappoint them and they will rarely view you the same way again.
You must be reliable and follow through with the promises and commitments that you hand out so easily during the day.
How good you are for your word and deed is viewed by others as a form of human calling card and rightfully so because it is nothing more than an extension of your personal standards and values.
This is not exclusive to business and work. Continually show up late, break promises or shirk responsibilities in social activities and you will find yourself slowly being excluded from those activities by others in the future.
