The Eyes Are The Secret
When you communicate with other people there is a lot more going on than just the transfer of words and meaning. One of the key ingredients is your eyes and where you focus your attention.
When you are talking to someone what do you notice? Generally people focus on if that person is listening or not. It is more important that they listen than get the topic of conversation.
If you are talking and the listener is looking at someone or something else it is distracting and almost insulting. Their eye actions are telling you that your words are not all that important and certainly not as attention grabbing as what they are looking at.
Eye contact is a vital part of human communication. If you are shifting your eyes around or away from the speaker they are getting mixed messages about your attention, interest and desire.
When speaking or listening to others always make certain that your eyes, attention, body posture and words are in unison and under self-control.
