The Illusion of Desire
Here is one moment that I’m certain almost any reader has experienced at least once and probably many times during their life so far.
That the anticipation of a desire is often much better than the real thing.
When you want something and keep that desire in mind you build a golden shell around the thought and pretty soon the object of your desire is the most wonderful and life changing thing, until you actually get it.
Then reality and the natural faults of that object of desire begin to sink in and all of a sudden you become disenchanted with the result. This is true with products, services and even relationships.
The faults and misgivings of the object are not necessarily bad, they simply exist and as your strong desire built you slowly became blind to any potential downside to what you wanted so strongly.
Whenever desire strikes keep a clear head and remember that the longer you harbor that desire the more chance you will candy coat any potential issues that exist or might arise in the future.
Be honest at all times with yourself and you won’t fall victim to the illusion of desire.
