An Introduction to Self-Discovery

From the inquisitive teen exploring the world for the first time to the homemaker seeking more out of life to the corporate executive striving to attain ever higher levels, humans harbor a desire for self-improvement and better quality of living.

However, we as a living species have become disconnected. Isolated within a body with a fixed worldview of self as a discrete component of existence a consciousness behind the eyes and between the ears detached from all other people, creatures and nature. Constantly grasping not for true wealth, but for the manmade symbols and artifacts of value.

Technology speeds up the process of living and normal becomes a subjective illusion formed of impatience, apathy, self-centeredness and undue sensitivity. Society has been trained, conditioned to focus on the past and the future which don't exist and to define ( accept ) separation by the labels of things and others.

Twenty five centuries of philosophy and meditative introspection are a path to:

-Revitalized health and wellbeing
-Self-awareness and self-mastery
-Keen focus, relaxation and stability
-Sharpening of the perceptive senses
-Better direction, purpose and meaning
-Stronger relationships and communication
-Appreciation of living in the present moment

AJ Gentry has dedicated four decades to intensive study of eastern disciplines. In his words, "Mankind cannot find solutions to concerns always viewing from inside out instead of outside in and changing outside in instead of the converse.

Many believe they can ( fix ) or ( force ) any situation to ( fit ) a desire, a view. From birth we are groomed to believe in doing, making, busyness, control and possession. Dependence upon competitive and manipulative thinking allows cause and effect to color opinion and define our results in the living experience.

The Kaigan ( awakening to truth ) people seek is not unlike air. It's an unthought spontaneity that cannot be grasped by intention or forced by will. The laws of nature are mirrored in society allowing concerns to be transcended intuitively."

Over the years Gentry Sensei has met a number of the world's most interesting and amazing people and continues to lecture or hold classes when requested. *

To master others is force; To master self is universal strength."

Ki Shin Seiki-Ryu

The concept of Living Essence or Life Energy has been cultivated for over 2500 years as Qi or Chi ( Chinese ), Ki ( Japanese ) or as Prana ( Indian ). It's the power, strength and vitality source in the eastern koryu / budo arts of Aikijutsu, Tai Chi or Aikido and the healing arts of Reiki, Qigong and medicinal acupuncture.

This Ki energy is all around us permeates our being and bonds us to other people and the environment. Ancient eastern arts teach that Ki can be developed, stored and channeled for strength and healing.

" Ki Shin Seiki-Ryu " ( pronounced "kee shen say ke roo" ), is an ancient Japanese family tradition with Chinese influence originating over 1000 years ago through the Minamoto, Seiwa Genji lineage of family origin within the Kansai Region and Tottori Prefecture.

This art of Ki Shin Seiki ( precision in shaping spirit energy ) was applied to living awareness, health and conflict. Living disciplines and Ki empowered practitioners with a "profound consciousness".

"These living energy flow shaping techniques" were shared with and cultivated by Shinto priests that supported the family domains and then passed hand to hand through the generations to 17th lineage Iemoto Chou Li ( Yamana Yoshizumi, Japan ).

In 1969, Li Sensei took AJ Gentry as Uchi Deshi (personal student).

In 1988, Dr. Gentry attained the (master teacher) Menkyo and after more than 40 years is the patriarch successor and 18th generation lineage bearer of Ki Shin Seiki-Ryu and Kishu Shinto-Ryu.

"Egolessness is purity of thought.

Living awareness is fusho ( clear mind )
the pure conscious awareness of the nature of reality without any delusion by the ego.

The Art of Human Tuning is bugi, in being ( nothing special ) beyond a clear mind.

How you think now, to form reality, identity and meaning is the substance of existence.
Is stands relative to Is not. Enlightenment
( egoless thought ) exists relative to ego.
An infant child is purity, is free of Self."
